Vanessa is a seasoned expert with more than twenty-five years’ experience in accounting and finance. She is a Certified Public Accountant and earned a Master in Business Administration with emphasis in Finance from the University of San Francisco.  She is Accredited in Business Valuation and Certified in Financial Forensics by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Prior to forming Evidentia Consulting, Vanessa was a partner at a well-respected niche forensic accounting firm where she spent 15 years specializing in complex litigation matters, including economic damages, business valuations, and fraud investigations.  She started out her forensic accounting career at a regional firm with a focus on bankruptcy fraud investigations.

Vanessa has worked on hundreds of engagements assisting clients with all stages of the litigation process. She has testified in both federal and state courts. Her case experiences include estate disputes, financial elder abuse, embezzlement, asset tracings, and business valuations.

Vanessa has taught forensic accounting courses, including economic damages and forensic valuation, as an adjunct professor at Golden Gate University. She has co-authored and moderated, with Monica Ip, courses in economic damages and forensic valuation for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is an active member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and has held various leadership positions, including serving as a Trustee of the CalCPA Education Foundation.
